Each record contains a transcript of original source material. The information contained can vary but you can find out the following about your ancestor:
Name
Date of birth
Place of baptism
Date of baptism
Name of father
Name of mother
These records are not intended to be a complete collection of all births and baptisms in Wales during this period. Some places are not covered and the date range can vary from place to place.
The transcripts refer to film numbers and batch numbers. These refer to material held at the Family History Library in the United States. Film numbers refer to microfilms which frequently contain scans of original documents from various repositories including churches and courthouses. Batch numbers refer to material that has been gathered together, often by a particular kind of record. Batch numbers can encompass several film numbers. You can get more information on both film and batch numbers from the online catalogue of the Family History Library on the FamilySearch website (See useful links).
You can use Findmypast’s “People with the same last name as this source” function to help you find related records in the same film or batch. This function can also help you to find other family members and additional records for the same person which may hold slightly different information.
