Begin your search broadly with just a first and last name. However, if you are unable to find your relative on your first search, you should try searching without forename, as some deaths were announced without use of the full name.
In the case of married women, you can try searching under the husband’s name - for example, if your search is unsuccessful for Mary Smith and she was married to a John Smith, try Mrs John Smith or alternatively Mrs Smith.
