This collection of transcripts is of individuals eligible for military pensions in 1900 and 1902. The details were extracted from The Statutes of New Zealand, passed in the 64th year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, covering the first session of the 14th Parliament of New Zealand on 21 June 1900 and the third session on 1 July 1902. The records were transcribed by Wendy Leahy.
This index will not only allow you to learn if your ancestor qualified for a pension but also the name and address of your ancestor’s next of kin, often including the relationship between the next of kin and your ancestor. This may prove to be vital in your family research as it could aid you in discovering another generation of your family by providing you with your ancestor’s father’s name, for example.
