GAS EXPLOSION.

On Friday a gas explosion occurred in one of the principal bedrooms at the residence of Major Shute, M.P. for Brighton, at Upper Brunswick-place, Hove, a deal of injury being done to the furniture and hangings of the room. The fire, however, extended no further.
