At at time when few domestic houses would have had access to reliable ovens bakeries offered a variety of goods that could not be made at home. The Directory of the Biscuit and Cracker Bakers of the United States and the Dominion of Canada contains alphabetical lists of bakers, and bakers listed by State, City and Towns. Also included are listings and advertisements of suppliers.
Listings for individual bakeries list their name, town and, for the USA the population size they served.
