Each result includes both a transcript and image. The amount of available information will vary from transcript to transcript depending on where the register originated. However, most transcripts will provide a combination of the following:
Year and even date – referring to date of communicant or member roll
The images of the original registers often include additional information, such as notations indicating name changes or spouse’s names.
Non-conformist refers to Protestant churches not aligned with the Church of Ireland. There are three collections represented in these records:
Ireland Down Anaghlone Presbyterian communicants 1868-1913 – This record set comprises the Communicant Rolls for the Presbyterian community of Anaghlone (Annaclone) near Banbridge, County Down. A communicant roll is a yearly roll call of communities' members. Notations in the register include changes to women's names on marriage, the date a member died, or the date a member left the community, often through emigration. Also noted is whether the member was provided with a certificate on leaving the congregation. A certificate acted as a letter of introduction and of good conduct that would allow members to integrate with a new Presbyterian community in a different location. Certificates would have been of particular importance to emigrants, as their new community would have given them some stability in a strange country.
Ireland Down Ballyroney Presbyterian communicants 1861-1913 – Similar to the Anaghlone Presbyterian communicants records, this is the Communicant Rolls for the Presbyterian community of Ballyroney near Banbridge, County Down. Again, notations will be provided to record name changes, death dates of members, and dates of departure from the congregation, as with those immigrating to new lands. Notes will also indicate whether those who left received a certificate, which acted as both a testament of good conduct and a note of introduction to a new Presbyterian congregation in whatever location the individual moved to.
Limerick non-conformist congregational records 1911-1945 – Congregational records, including communicant rolls 1911-1945 and Ballinacurra Sunday school rolls 1914-1919, provided by Joint Presbyterian and Methodist Congregation of Christ Church, Limerick.
