California, Collections Of The California Genealogical Society 1700-1942 Image Browse

This broad and varied collection from the California Genealogical Society (the first historical society formed in the state) in Oakland includes records from numerous sources. Included in this collection are records pertaining to the San Francisco Odd Fellows cemetery, crematory, and columbarium; San Francisco Probate Register of Actions ledgers; a surname index for vital events that appeared in Northern California newspapers; and documents relating to the histories of two families (the Phillips family and the Humphrey Griffin family).
